Preferential Treatment - Jonghyun/Minho

"Minho~ why do you treat me like this?"

"Like how, sire?"

"Like a fucking princess! I'm a man, for crying out loud!"

Minho parked the car in front of the Kim residence and looked at Jonghyun through the rearview mirror. "But you are a prince, sir, and I'm merely your bodyguard."

Jonghyun pouted and huffed, crossing his arms across his chest and looked away to the window. Minho sighed and got out of the car, opening the door for Jonghyun. He stubbornly sat there glaring at the tall man. Minho sighed again and carried him abruptly princess style, causing the other to scream and struggle. "Yah! Choi Minho! Put me down, you tall alien frog!"

"No can do, Master. I have to take care of your leg."

Jonghyun grumbled in irritation as Minho carried him inside the mansion. "It's your fault I'm like this."

"You insisted on trying out for the soccer team, Prince Jjong."

"Would you stop with the nicknames?! And for the record, I would've gotten that ball if it weren't for you!"

"Sir, that ball was deliberately kicked to you. I intercepted so it wouldn't go straight for your crotch area." Minho stopped walking and stared at Jonghyun unemotionally. "And for the record, you sprained your ankle from running away from schoolgirls. They just wanted to see if you were okay."

Jonghyun continued to mutter to himself as Minho carried him up the spiral staircase and into Jonghyun's bedroom. There, Minho carefully place him on the bed then quickly got the first aide kit. As Minho wrapped the sprained ankle with a bandage wrap, Jonghyun randomly asked, "Minho, if I was poor, would you take me in?"

Minho paused and glanced at Jonghyun for a second before smiling softly at him. Jonghyun felt lucky to see him smile on suc rare occassions.

"For you, Master, I would."

Jonghyun's heart fluttered at that moment and silently blushed as Minho finished fixing his ankle and ruffled his hair.






Minho heard a knock at his front door on a rainy day and answered it. "Hello? Who's - Prince Jjong?!" He gapsed, seeing Jonghyun drenched from the rain, and he appears to still be crying.

He pulled the short prince into his shabby small house and locked the door. He immediately got a dry towel from the bathroom and made Jonghyun change into his own dry clothes, which turned out to be loose for him. Minho sat Jonghyun down on the couch and gave him a cup of hot chocolate, to which the prince drank well despite shivering from the cold.

"Prince Jjong, what happened?"

Jonghyun remained quiet, and before Minho could interrogate him more, his house phone rang. He answered the call. "Hello?"

"Hello, Mr. Choi. It appears we heed not need your services anymore. You, as of today, do not have a Master to be a butler of."

Minho grew confused and asked over the phone, "May I ask why I am being fired, sir?" He noticed Jonghyun flinch, which meant that he had something to do with it.

Part 2: Preferential Treatment - Jonghyun/Minho

"Well, it appears that there will no longer be a prince in this household for you to be of service with, sir."

".....I understand. Thank you for your time."

"We believe you will do well in your next career position you will manage to obtain. I shall send your severance pay within 2 weeks."

"Okay, thank you. Goodbye."

Minho hung up and put the phone down, staring at Jonghyun who hung his head low and sniffled.

"Prince Jjong, what happened? How did you get kicked out of your own family?" he asked softly.

Jonghyun started sobbing and hugged Minho out of nowhere. "I-I told t-them.....all m-my family members......I'm g-gay....and they just shunned me!" he shouted.

Minho frowned and squeezed him tightly against his chest. "Shhh....it's okay, Prince Jjong. You still have me...." he whispered against his temple and kissed it. Jonghyun's eyes widened and he blushed, but he made sure never to tell him.

He has to hide it from Minho so that he doesn't get shunned from his place, too.

The reason why he turned gay was because of him.

"Step aside, faggot!" One boy called out as he pushed Jonghyun aside in the hallway of a public school. Jonghyun whimpered as he fell on the floor, cringing in fear as students around him started laughing at his misery.

Ever since Jonghyun was banished immediately from his family and Minho got fired, the two had gotten expelled from the prestige school for rich kids right away. With Minho's grades, however, he was able to enroll back into public school, where average people go to. Jonghyun was only lucky that he managed to obtain a choir scholarship from there, because frankly, his grades sucked really bad. Luckily for Jonghyun, Minho started tutoring him whenever he had the time and by the next 2 months, Jonghyun caught up with the rest of his classmates. As for money and rent, Minho started working part-time at a nearby cafe. Jonghyun wanted to work, too, but Minho refused to let him do work unless it's housework or schoolwork.

"Leave him alone."

The entire hallway gasped and made room for Minho to walk through the crowdful of students. Minho stared coldly at the boy who pushed Jonghyun. Jonghyun looked up at him, tears nearly spilling from his eyelids. He noticed how extremely cold he acted towards all people except for him.

The boy scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Why do you always protect this fellow? He's got muscles like yours and can protect himself!" he exclaimed and pointed at Jonghyun. He started laughing as Jonghyun slowly stood up from his fall. "Then again, that faggot's shorter than my girlfriend! And she's younger than him!" Everyone in the hallway started laughing along with him.

One single tear on Jonghyun's face encouraged Minho to step forward and punch the boy square in the jaw. The boy fought back, hitting Minho in the stomach. Minho barely flinched, making everyone at the scene scared of what he might do next.

Minho pulled the boy by the collar and stuffed him in an open locker. He slammed it shut and took a mop from a janitor who just arrived at the scene. He made sure the mop handle was secure on the handlebars of 3 lockers, just so that the person in the middle locker wouldn't get out.

Part 3: Preferential Treatment - Jonghyun/Minho

Everyone gasped and grew quiet immediately. Minho stalked his way towards Jonghyun and held his hand firmly yet soft and caring. Jonghyun felt surprise at the control of emotions that Minho possessed - he was mean and cruel to everyone else except for him. Why was that?

He decided to ask him as they turned around a corner and headed towards the soccer field, where he and Minho usually hang out because the soccer team were the only people to be genuinely nice to them.

"Minho, why....why do you treat me differently from the others? Is it because I'm gay?" Jonghyun hesitantly asked. His breath hitched as he felt Minho stop walking beside him. He didn't dare look at the taller male; he was scared of making him angry.

"......hyung, the guy who bullied you last week was gay. I treated him the same way I treated the guy who pushed you today." Minho bluntly reminded the other.

Jonghyun frowned, confusion written all over his face. "Then....it's just me? Why?"

Before he knew it, Minho tilted his chin to make him look up at him, their gazes connecting.

"Because you're the only exception."

Jonghyun's heart fluttered to the extreme and decided to do what he always wanted to do around Minho. He leaned up to him and kissed him briefly on the lips. Minho was shocked at his hyung's actions. When Jonghyun didn't feel a response, he pulled away and blushed deep red.

"I'm sorry! I wanted to - aish, this isn't how I wanted to confess! Umm - it's just that you make me blush all the time and dammit I always feel special when you treat me different than others and I understand that you don't feel the same way but please don't kick me out of your house - " His speech was interrupted with Minho's lips over his. It was his turn to be shocked.

Minho slowly pulled away and chuckled, something that people rarely see and only Jonghyun can see it. "I love you, hyung. Even before you got kicked out." Jonghyun gasped at the sudden confession. "That's why I treat you differently than the rest of your family in the household back then, and that's why I'm only smiling at you instead of other people around me. It's because you are the only one I want to be with."

Jonghyun couldn't suppress the goofy smile on his face after Minho kissed him again, this time deeper and longer.

It is! Did you see they moved to dreamwidth and started another round? I think it's kacts.dreamwidth.org but I'm not sure.

(btw, sorry for such a late reply. Between finals and family holiday stuff I haven't been online at all in weeks)

I think so, if you're planning to participate again. I don't know how these things work in other fandoms, but it seems like the kind of thing where if you want to participate, you keep signing up for the current round. I don't think it has to be a new list, but signing up again makes your list easier for others to find.
